Of course, Romans 1 and 2 make it very clear, specifically, but I love the way Ephesians 5: 6-8 puts it. As believers, we are not to be deceived by any man's vain words because the wrath of God will come on the children of disobedience. So don't partake with them. Then it says you were in darkness, and me too, "but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light." OK, Dana. Please do that! Take some time to rethink this and repent of following darkness. God is love. We can never go wrong following Him, walking in the truth of His Word by His Spirit. Ephesians 5. Please read it. I feel that you are a brother in Christ. I have been praying for you after seeing the show Saturday night about your weight loss. I read John 17 today, and I had the thought that if you have been "born that way" or not, Jesus must be the love of your life as He should be for every Christian believer. A homosexual lifestyle is not a legitimate, godly lifestyle for a believer because it is not a part of the truth Jesus has given. I think that the worldly ways around us have tormented us, but we must rise up in Him and have done with lesser things. I hope that God will show you the truth and give you everything you need for life and godliness. I also want to recommend a book called The Broken Image: Restoring Personal Wholeness Through Healing Prayer by Leanne Payne; I have the Baker Book House edition of 1996 which is dedicated "to all who have endured or even now suffer the homosexual identity crisis, especially those who have feared there was no help to be found." I wish you could go talk to her and perhaps receive ministry from her, if possible. She has seven books, including a great one called Listening Prayer, and she has a ministry called Pastoral Care Ministries in which she does seminars. A first step would be to get her books. I do not have answers for you, but I do encourage you to keep searching for truth. If you truly seek God and love Him, He will lead you to truth always--whatever that may be. I typically turn on the tv only at night, tuning into something light to help me fall asleep. But I saw your face and heard you speak as soon as I tuned in last night, and I was immediately captivated by your beautiful soul. You made my eyes well up as you constantly put yourself down at the beginning of the episode; it pained me to see another human see himself that way - when clearly, the rest of us saw only your radiant face and spirit. Rather than being able to fall asleep, I stayed glued to the show to see its outcome. Bravo to you for coming out on national television - that took great courage, my friend - and for all your hard work to lose weight. Please understand you were no less beautiful when you were heavy. But now the chances are much, much greater that your friends and family will be able to enjoy your compnay for many more years. God bless you.
